STARTEK VoIP ... Voice Powered By Data

2026 is the revolution where copper meets fibre and LLU meets VoIP, the revolution has begun, take your business from the 1920's to the 2020's.

Take your business in to the future with VoIP.

VoIP

VoIP, Voice over Internet Protocol. It is being mentioned more and more but what exactly is it and how does it work? In layman terms, your number sits in the cloud and your calls are received in the cloud but your VoIP phones access those calls and that is it in a nutshell. Your telephone system basically is migrated from the physical to a virtual platform.

Bundled Minutes

Unlimited minutes to UK landline and mobiles are everything you need to run your business, no need to worry about the volume of telephone calls, you just pay a set cost every month. Some other competitors may tell you that bundled packages are not cost effective but this really is not the case. In today’s world of business, a lot of businesses like to have a more structured financial forecast for running costs, so when it comes to telecoms which is one of the most important services to any business, it is good to have a set cost every month.

Enterprise Level Telephones

STARTEK VoIP offer an enterprise level platform whatever package you choose and we can offer an enterprise level of features. We have 3 plans to choose from; Lite, Enterprise and Enterprise Plus. Lite has everything a small business requires but Enterprise will give you all of the features most large companies have, giving your buisness the professional profile. IVR (Interactive voice response) and Ring Groups will transform how your incoming calls are handled, we can taylor the IVR menu for your business in many different way. Our Enterprise Plus plan will give you everything the Enterprise plan offer with the addition of call recording.

VoIP Explained In More Detail

VoIP effectively in 2026 will replace all or the majority of telephone systems once BT have completed the fibre roll out. Conventional telephone systems use a standard copper line with a single number assigned to it, office telephone systems have a PBX controller on site which normally connected to an ISDN line. However, ISDN lines became obsolete in recent months but some telecoms companies have offered an IP PBX so the customer does not have to replace their existing telephone system. As this may seem like a good idea it does have some downfalls. One of them being that the hardware is still on site (PBX) whereas VoIP all of the hardware is in the cloud therefore outages and downtime are none to minimal.

VoIP telephone systems use an internet connection to connect to the virtual phone system in the cloud, this is how all calls are handled, if you are familiar with remote desktop which is a virtual way of computing then VoIP is the voice version of remote desktop. This type of system is very dynamic making any changes to a system can be carried out by us at your request without us having to come to your office.

Your number has to be migrated to the VoIP platform first, this is called a number port, once this is complete the telephone line that the number was assigned to will be ceased. This will also cease any broadband connection on this line, in most scenarios we will then provide a new Openreach line with a broadband connection but not in this order. There are scenarios were some businesses have their broadband on a separate line to their main business telephone number. In this scenario we do not require to replace your broadband connection unless you want to move this service to us.

STARTEK VoIP are committed to providing your business with the best service possible, we take the planning very serious to ensure your business has no downtime during a voice migration. If you already have a VoIP system in place but are looking to move then we would follow much of the same process. Your number would already be in the cloud therefore no lines would need to be ceased.
